Congratulations to Mervyn Jones II for being selected to become a member of Kaleidoscope Magazine’s Forty/Forty Club. Each year, the magazine recognizes forty African Americans-ages 40 and under- who are making significant contributions in the Cleveland area and within their organizations.

Mervyn will appear in an upcoming issue of Kaleidoscope Magazine and participate in their Annual Forty/Forty Club Induction Ceremony. The ceremony will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010 6-8 p.m at The Union Club, located at 1211 Euclid Ave, Cleveland Ohio 44115. Once again Congrats Mervyn!!

We need something like this for Cleveland…  Any qualified takers?

Tropikana of Socialite Behavior and Z.1079 departs Cleveland’s hip hop and R&B station Sunday Feb 7th. Known amongst the city as one the most visible personalities of Z1079, she is often spotted in the most exclusive events, hosting the hottest parties or in the community working with the kids.

Tropikana will be expanding her brand to NE Georgia Feb 15th as the midday Fox on WFXA Foxie 103.1 in Augusta, GA. This Friday at Dream Night Club we will send Trop off with her official farewell Cleveland party brought to you by the good fellas of Eighty81!

The craze of the retro sneaker is a joke to me at times. Many of us (including myself) can’t wait for that re-release of an original shoe. In today’s culture, we see a retro release plastered all over blogs and forums without actual recognition of the original shoe. I bought the Retro Jordan XII when I was 14 thinking I was supreme.

I showed my brothers and they laughed at me; they said I had fakes. I exclaimed in a furious wrath, “I paid $144.99 for these at Footlocker!” My brothers though had reasonable logic: My sneakers were not the original release from 1996.
